How your center can participate:
Obtain IRB Approval
Each participating center must obtain approval from the local Institutional Review Board (IRB). We will provide a submission template based on the UCSF submission, which you can adapt for your local IRB application.Download the REDCap Template / Data Dictionary
We will provide the latest database version, which you can implement in REDCap by importing the provided template. Centers with existing data collection systems can use the Data Dictionary to align their systems and ensure data compatibility.Start using the SATA Liver Database.
You can begin data collection once IRB approval is obtained, and the database is set up in REDCap. REDCap allows you to import relevant data from other sources, such as local surgical databases or electronic anesthesia records.
Steps to Participate in the Multicenter Research Collaboration:
Complete Data Use Agreements
Your institution will complete two Data Use Agreements:A DUA with UCSF governs the de-identified dataset transfer to UCSF as the data-coordinating center.
A DUA with SRTR allows your data to be linked with the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) data.
Data for Cleaning
Following the data-cleaning steps in REDCap, submit the first version of your dataset to UCSF. We will provide a Data Cleaning Report identifying any missing data or outliers.Review and Revise
Based on the Data Cleaning Report, review your cases to ensure data quality and resubmit the revised dataset to UCSF.Merge with SRTR Data
Submit your dataset to SRTR, where it will be linked with additional data from their registry.Submit Final Data
After the SRTR merge, submit the final version of your dataset to the UCSF data-coordinating center.
